Chop ooo restaurant stands out as a vibrant and essential destination for lovers of authentic African cuisine and culture. Nestled in a bustling neighbourhood in Newcastle, this restaurant offers an impressive selection of traditional African ingredients, spices, and ready-made food. The restaurant's ambiance is warm and welcoming, with colourful decorations and traditional music setting a lively tone. The layout is well-organised, making it easy to navigate through various sections dedicated to different African regions. With decor that reflects the vibrant and colourful culture of Africa. The walls are adorned with African art, textiles, and photographs, creating an immersive atmosphere. Traditional music playing softly in the background adds to the authentic experience. The seating is comfortable, and the layout is spacious, making it suitable for both intimate dinners and larger gatherings. The menu is a delightful journey through various African cuisines. It features a wide range of dishes, each prepared with care and authenticity. Signature dishes include Nigerian jollof rice, injera with spicy wot, fufu with peanut soup, and South African bobotie. The ingredients are fresh, and the flavours are bold and well-balanced. The portion sizes are generous, and each dish is presented beautifully. Special mention goes to the suya (grilled meat skewers) and the peri-peri chicken, both of which are marinated to perfection and bursting with flavour. The service is impeccable. The staff are friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They are eager to explain the dishes and make recommendations based on guests' preferences. The waiting times are reasonable, even during peak hours, and the overall dining experience is smooth and enjoyable. The drinks menu is equally exciting, featuring a selection of African-inspired cocktails, fresh juices, and traditional beverages. The desserts are a perfect end to the meal. Chop oo Restaurant and lounge offers good value for money. The prices are reasonable considering the quality and portion sizes of the dishes. It's a great place for both casual dining and special occasions, offering an authentic taste of Africa without breaking the bank. Beyond the dining experience, this restaurant hosts cultural nights featuring live music, dance performances, and storytelling, creating a vibrant cultural hub. These events not only enhance the dining experience but also foster a sense of community and appreciation for African culture.

Wow this bar surprised me and my friends. It's clean It's done out perfectly with three huge light changing chandeliers. The people who run this bar are the nicest you'll ever meet anywhere The food wow the food is unbelievable: Fish pasties suya beef chicken and rice and sweet dumplings ..wow so nice I wanted to lick my plate! Dancing is magic here cis everyone gets down and boogies to the Nigerian beat. Large parking area and the best garden area of any bar in Newcastle area. Chopooo is not to be missed. Great venue for tourists cyclists or a good crowd of bikers. All in all a most friendly and welcoming bar. So clean!? They must have a magic fairy? Geordie Paul Green Guardian

I hardly give food rating but I was at Chop ooo Restaurant and Lounge yesterday , it offers an exceptional blend of Nigerian and continental cuisine in a cosy, vibrant atmosphere. The jollof rice was smoky perfection, while the suya delivers authentic spice that lingers just right. The staff were friendly and attentive to our requests . This to ensured a delightful dining experience for me and friends. The lounge's tasteful decor and upbeat vibe make it ideal for casual hangouts. We had drinks and it was well-crafted, with the Chapman standing out as a refreshing highlight. Whether you're craving a taste of home or exploring new flavours, Chop ooo nails it. I strongly recommend them.
